The Sales Executive is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and driving sales growth by advising customers on furniture selection, offering in-depth product knowledge, and ensuring a seamless buying experience. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, sales-driven individual with an interest in home furnishings and interior design.
1. Sales & Revenue Generation
  • Greet customers warmly and engage them to understand their specific furniture and home furnishing needs and preferences.
  • Present, demonstrate, and explain product features, benefits, and differences (materials, construction, styles, and functionality).
  • Proactively recommend suitable furniture solutions, taking into account the customer’s space, budget, and aesthetic goals, sometimes incorporating basic interior design principles.
  • Effectively communicate pricing, financing options, warranty information, and delivery details.
  • Master negotiation and closing techniques to meet and exceed personal and store sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Actively promote complementary products (e.g., accent pieces, rugs, protection plans) to maximize sales value.
2. Customer Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and generate referrals.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Follow up with customers after the sale to ensure satisfaction, address any post-delivery issues, and solicit feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales pipeline, and orders using the Point of Sale (POS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
3. Store Operations & Merchandising
  • Maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of all product lines, current sales, promotions, and inventory status.
  • Ensure the sales floor and personal work area are clean, organized, and visually appealing according to company merchandising standards.
  • Assist with the arrangement and display of new merchandise, ensuring all items are correctly priced and labeled.
  • Accurately process all sales transactions, orders, financing agreements, and payment collections.
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail, or Interior Design preferred.
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in retail sales, preferably in furniture, home décor, or a high-value retail environment.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong Sales Acumen: Proven ability to present, negotiate, and close sales effectively.
  • Excellent Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Product Knowledge Interest: A passion for and ability to quickly learn about furniture materials, design styles, and construction.
  • Customer-Focused: Dedication to providing a positive and memorable customer experience.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with attention to detail for processing orders and managing follow-up.
  • IT Proficiency: Basic math skills and proficiency in using POS and CRM systems.
  • This role involves standing and walking for extended periods on the sales floor.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak retail
    hours.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of light merchandise/samples may be required.
